Our Littlest House Guest

We absolutely love "having company"...I put that in quotations because I've come to realize it's another southern saying, natural to me but foreign to many northwesterners. Just replace it with "having guests" and you're all good. :)

My favorite thing about having company over is that we get to spend 1:1 time with them, and they have our undivided attention. It's awesome! This week was super special because we hosted our littlest house guest ever - our favorite Levi!

Levi is no stranger to this blog, and you might remember him as the chocolate covered face from his first birthday last December. But most recently, we had a super fun baby shower for his little sister, Lexi. Well, the time had finally come for her to enter this world and we were SO excited to have Levi staying with us. Seriously, we didn't want to give him back!

This little guest came packing with things we aren't used to seeing around here...

And Laura even made this amazing basket filled with our favorite things as a thank you for us, how sweet!

It was my goal to spoil this little guy so much that he would always want to come back so I planned some fun adventures for us.

On Day One, we loaded up with his monkey buddy and went to Target. He was a super trooper and came home with a few fun prizes. :)

Since this day was his half-birthday, I thought I'd take him to McDonald's for a fun Happy Meal, but since I had groceries in the car and we had somewhere to be later that evening, we had to hit the drive-thru instead. But I don't think he minded...as long as there was plenty of ketchup. :)

Then we got the news that Lexi had arrived. We jumped up and down for thirty minutes shouting our best "woohoo's!" So much fun!

On Day Two we ventured over to the zoo with my friend Libby and her sweet baby girl, Jane. The zoo has a great play spot for kids where they can run around safely outside of the stroller. Levi loved it!

But his favorite thing about the whole zoo experience were the pretzel sticks. :)

We stopped for a little picnic before heading home.

So happy. :)

Later that evening (AFTER nap time), we went to the hospital so Levi could meet his little sister. Isn't she darling?

We are just so excited for Laura and Moises and their new family of four!

Day Three we went to Sunnyside Beach for another fun playdate with some friends.

Loving the sand...

...and still loving those pretzel sticks!

Played in the sand for a little while longer, then decided the water looked pretty good.

Oops! Fell over into the water and was not happy about it, ha! Had to warm up under a towel and have a banana to make him feel all better.

It worked! He was one happy boy in no time!

And just check out the post-beach bath tub, love it!

We had such a great time with our little buddy and are sure hoping he comes back this summer for many more adventures with D & Lissa!

  1. I will not be allowing my children to see this blog post, lest they think someone has taken over their D & Lissa. It would be hard for me to explain just how much easier one kiddo is than four to take places. Ha!
I know Levi had a blast with you guys :)

  2. Oh how I would love to take all four of them with me on so many adventures! I'm just not sure I could do it safely, ha! You are super woman for sure!! Maybe we can plan a D & Lissa week and they can each pick the day they want to come hang out with us. I am SO looking forward to being in their neighborhood! How did I manage to be so blessed to be in their lives? I love them!!
