A Brand New Date

Sometimes dinner & a movie can get old...and expensive. Don't get me wrong - I looove dinner and I looove going to the movies, but it's always fun to change things up a little!

Not long after we moved here, some friends told us about a drive in theater not far from here. I guessed it slipped our minds and we never got around to checking it out until this past weekend. We drove over after church on Sunday night (yes, I said AFTER church...the movie can't start until dusk, which is about 9:30 p.m. these days).

After pulling the car in both forward and backward, we decided on leaving it in reverse. We brought plenty of blankets & snacks, got all bundled up and settled in for a movie marathon. The cool thing about this theater is that they always show a double feature and this night they were showing Battleship & The Avengers - did I mention they only charge $7 per person for BOTH movies?!? By the time Avengers started, it was 11:30 and I did pretty good for the first hour, but after that I was completely zonked. What an old woman I've become, ha! Thankfully, my sweet husband didn't mind loaning me his shoulder for the rest of the movie - he's the BEST!

Can you read my shirt? It says "My husband rocks." And yes he does! Love him and our fun dates so much!!

Wedding Math

This revelation just came to me in the last hour...I knew I had to blog it or I would forget it forever.

Derek and I were married on June 9, 2007. Today is May 9, 2012.

We have been husband and wife for four years and eleven months.

What's so special about that you ask?

Well, four years and eleven months is fifty-nine months...and today is May 9.

59 Months on 5/9 - how cool is that?!?

The math nerd in me just loves it when numbers work out like that. So fun!

So you know if today makes 59 months, then in one more month it will be 60 months - our five year anniversary!! I have no idea what that holds, but I can't wait to share it with you! One thing I do know is that I am still the happiest girl in the whole wide world!

Wait...didn't I already blog that?

That was my thought when I realized that I never shared the pictures that our wonderful and talented photographer friend Dawn took for us last fall. Seriously...last fall?!? We used a couple of them for our Christmas card and I think I just forgot to take it any further. But since I know our family would like to see them...I'll fix that problem right now. Better late that never, right?

We went down to Portland (where Dawn currently lives) on Veteran's Day weekend with our friends Mark and Tif and spent the whole day catching up and having fun. Dawn had scoped out a park downtown and it made for a perfect location. Good times. Great memories!

You can see more of Dawn's talents on her website - Fly a Kite Photography. She's the best!
