Down on the Farm

On Friday, my favorite kindergartener in the whole wide world asked me to go on a little field trip with him to a dairy farm just outside our hometown of Poplarville, Mississippi. I couldn't resist his request and so we spent the day down on the farm.

Isn't he precious? How could I possibly say no??

But before we saw any cows, this guy was there to greet us as we parked...

My Dad told me it was definitely a Black Racer (or Black Runner) and will both chase and attack, yikes! This was the last we saw of him.

We went on to do some farm exploring...

This adorable little calf was born that very morning, aww....

Then we went on a tour and saw the equipment used for pasteurizing the milk and learned a little about the process.

That's alot of milk!

Got to witness the milking of a cow...

We learned that each cow is good for about 5 gallons of milk each day...wow!

They loved watching the farmer milk the cow...can't you tell?

Got to pet and feed a calf, how sweet...

And then we got to visit the little store and bring home some treats, made right there on the farm.

I love this silly fella! So glad I got to spend a day at the farm with him =)
