A Most Beautiful Day in Seattle

It was some kind of beautiful when we woke up Saturday morning and we knew we would definitely NOT be staying inside! So we opted to head up to Seattle and enjoy this most amazing day!!

First stop, Pike Place Market!

The market is always a fun place to visit, and there were several hundred people who agreed with us on this day.

Love this view of Qwest and Safeco Fields with a view of Mt. Rainier snuggled in between.

Boats, boats, and more boats! Lots of sailors out today and just look at that cruise ship! I'm hoping that one day that very ship will take us to Alaska on a glacier cruise!

Love this city!

One of my favorite, no, probably my most favorite thing about Pike Place Market, especially on a Saturday, is the entertainment! And boy was there a lot of it! Of course, there is the usual piano or violin playing, but there's also some pretty unique acts as well.

This bluegrass band was playing outside of Starbucks, they were a hit!

Probably my favorite of the day...this guy is playing a guitar and harmonica, balancing a guitar, and hula hooping with two hula hoops at the same time. He just kept adding more and more things to his act, but this was his grand finale.

This is the first magic act I've seen in the market and it was great!

There are always a couple of things I never leave the market without (in the summertime at least)...

Beautiful, fresh flowers

And a Temptation Melon, which is only in season for a very short time, but oh how I love them!

Then it was on to 5th Avenue and a stop at our favorite pub to share some appetizers.

We love Elephant and Castle!

Since we paid to park for the evening, we decided to make the most of it and do a little shopping, mostly window shopping, but shopping nevertheless.

I honestly didn't realize how big this downtown area was, there are blocks and blocks of stores!

Then we decided a movie downtown might be nice.

We saw The Karate Kid, which I absolutely loved! Derek loved it too, once he stopped comparing it to the original. Ha!

And just look what is right across the street from the movie theater!

Yep, that's The Cheesecake Factory. It was getting late and was definitely in the middle of the dinner rush, but we went in anyway. The hostess said it would be 30 minutes for a table, but there were a couple of spots left in the lounge if we wanted to snatch them up, and snatch them up we did!

Within 10 minutes, yes 10 minutes, we were dining on this scrumptious entree...

Everything at the Cheesecake Factory is HUGE, so we were more than happy to share =)

And then of course, we had to order cheesecake! With over 50 different desserts to choose from, how would we decide??

Well, in honor of the Blueberry Jubilee, which was going on in Poplarville that very day, we opted for Wild Blueberry White Chocolate Cheesecake and oh my goodness, I can't even believe how yummy it was! Derek said just last night that he'd pay $50 to have another piece of that cheesecake right then! (though I couldn't talk him into driving to get one)

After we stuffed ourselves, we began our drive home and just look at this beautiful view we had.

Seeing this Mountain never gets old, it's beautiful and amazing every single time the clouds part long enough for us to get a glimpse of it. I sure am hoping for more and more of this beautiful weather. So far we're on Day 4 of sunshine, I'm keeping my fingers crossed =)
