An Incredible Day on the Mountain

Summertime has finally arrived in Washington! We've had a few glimpses of summer, but it has finally stopped teasing us and decided to stick around. Tuesday was by far the most beautiful day we've had, which worked out perfectly because we (along with three other families) had a big day planned at Mt. Rainier.

Beautiful really doesn't describe it

This is the Thompson family: (R to L) Greg, Karla, Kayla, and Connor
They are preparing to move from their home in Kentucky to Washington and will be starting another church in the Puget Sound area. We are super excited to have more people moving this way and even more excited about new churches being started in this "unchurched" region where we live. Pray for the Thompsons as they have alot of decisions to make in the near future and will no doubt need plenty of wisdom and direction!

We had to have a mountain picture of our own =)

We enjoyed a few waterfall hikes, the view is more than worth it!

Looking down the waterfall

Okay, so we didn't hike to this one. We just parked the van and got out =)

Love the rainbow!

Yes, Mrs. Joanna, Derek did climb on many of those big rocks around us =)

We finally made it to the actual mountain!

Stopped for a picnic on the ledge

Snowball fight!!

A very frozen Reflection Lake

We took one last shot of the mountain and headed home. It was one incredible day!! We really needed this beautiful sunshiny day, I know I did at least. But God knew that...just like He always knows what we need...EXACTLY what we need. =)

  1. He makes me SO nervous, how did you handle him? :-) I would have love to have been there....well on second thought, maybe not, I don't think I could have handled watching Derek :-)

  2. I have a feeling he was holding back while we were there...or maybe I just wasn't looking. =)
