A Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Day!!

Yesterday was such a treat for me! I took half the day off of work because we had plans...big plans...wonderful plans...supercalifragilisticexpialidocious plans! Guess what's happening in Seattle right now??

And we had tickets!! I was sooo excited!

And I had the most handsome and charming date for the evening. Love him!

It was an amazing show! I absolutely loved it - and I don't think it was too torturous for Derek either, ha! I felt like an eight year old girl again and couldn't stop smiling...especially when they performed "Step in Time" - my absolute favorite! You can never outgrow Mary Poppins...she's practically perfect...in every way =)

There's just one word for this show...

Yep, you guessed it!

But before the show began, we had a great time hanging out in Seattle.

We stopped for lunch at one of our most favorite places!

Chipotle, yum!

Then we had some dessert at Coldstone, did a little (very little) shopping in the area, and headed on for stop at another of our favorite places...

It was a gorgeous day for strolling through the market, but I was mainly there for one thing...

Fresh, beautiful, and cheap flowers...lovely!

And wouldn't you know it?? We landed in Seattle on "Free Museum Day." Just a block from the Market is the Seattle Art Museum, so of course we had to check it out.

I've honestly never been to an art museum and I wish we would've had more time to really read some of the art descriptions and histories, but we just didn't have time for too much reading...so we mostly looked...

And took pictures...here are a few for you =)

Let's call this one "Plastic Bottle Man"

...since he's made of plastic bottles.

And we'll name this one "Dog Tag Armour Coat"

...because it's made with over 100,000 dog tags.

Need a war mask, anyone?

They've got plenty - really cool!

Or maybe you'd prefer a wooden coffin designed for you based on your profession...

This must've belonged to a limo driver. Apparently, this used to be pretty common - I'm guessing mine would be a desk (for a teacher) or maybe an apple or an overhead projector, ha!

How about a copper St. Luke??

I thought this was pretty neat.

Like interpreting wall art??

Try figuring out the one on the far left...yikes!

But my favorite thing of all was in a special exhibit called "Meet Me At The Center Of The Earth" by Nick Cave. It was a giant bear made entirely of Gap style sweaters. I wanted to take a picture of my beloved "Sweater Bear" so badly, but photography was not allowed inside the exhibit. Lucky for me, someone broke that rule and I found a picture online to share with you.

Isn't he cute??

It was a fun museum trip and maybe the next time admission is free, we'll have more time to read about the things we were scratching our heads over.

I didn't want our day to end, but it had to...work was calling, and boy did it call loudly today. But I found myself singing a little song in my head...

A Spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down
The medicine go down-wown
The medicine go down
Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down
In a most delightful way

I love my job but I can't help but be excited that there are only twenty more school days until summer vacation!! That's Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!
