Our most adorable town of Steilacoom has an annual apple squeeze every year. The highlight of this event is getting to squeeze your very own jug of apple cider in an old fashioned apple press, yum! Derek and I went down to check it out and met up with our friends, Arin and Kristy and their four kiddos. Though we didn't bring home our own jug of apple cider, we had so much fun watching the Jenkins' crew creating theirs. And I must say, I've never seen so many apples in one place before!
Let the apple squeezing begin!
Jace using his muscle to help cut the apples
Avery, Jace, and Kadence tossing in their apples
Arin tagged Derek in to help =)
The apples are cut and the kids are turning the wheel to start the squeezing, the juice from the apples runs into the bucket below.
From the buckets, through the funnel, to the jug
And the prized trophy...a freshly squeezed jug of apple cider! We even got to taste it and it was oh-so-delicious!!
Now, onto a pumpkin patch adventure! Pumpkin patches are one of my most favorite things about fall and are quite popular around here. If you don't believe me, look at how many people had the same idea we did today...
Just look at this line to get into the pumpkin patch! Can you believe it?? It doesn't even open for 15 minutes and there's already a giant line. But this was no ordinary pumpkin patch...this was....
Roloff Farms!! That's right, the family farm from TLC's Little People, Big World. You might remember that Derek and I went last year and had a super fun time, but I have several friends who've lived in Washington much longer than me and have never been so we planned a girls' trip, fun fun!! And trust me, the boys we left behind were quite content with not tagging along =)
Our first Roloff sighting of the day, Matt! We did get a picture with him, but not with my camera, maybe I can get a copy to share with you next time.
We spotted the Roloff boys working on the farm today
Zach's driving a tractor tour
And so is Jeremy!
Lehua, Tif, Jenna, and me loaded up for our first tour
And we were lucky to get Zach as our chauffeur =)
Very pretty Roloff House, so much bigger in person, too.
Roloff Barn No. 1, home to Matt's office, the spot for tv interviews, and where the crew does the editing.
It is such a beautiful farm =)
Pirate Ship
Molly's Castle
Very cool tree house
Made a pit stop in Western Town for a picture with Honey, Poppa, and Jeremy
Amy was at the start of a very long line of fans waiting for autographs and pictures, and we watched her as she took her time with each and every one. She is so gracious and truly a Mom at heart!
Cutie pie Jacob
A final picture of our day at Roloff Farms.
Seriously, this is the coolest farm I've ever seen! And if I were one of their children, I would NEVER move away from home!! Why would you leave a pirate ship, castle, tree house, western town, petting zoo, soccer field, basketball court, volleyball court, or your pet alligator, just to name a few of the things we saw today?? The Roloffs are a great family, so down-to-earth, and we just loved our time at their farm. And our day didn't even end here, we got to have lunch in Portland and did a little outlet mall shopping in Centralia...what a fun girls' trip! Hoping for many, many more of those to come =)
